What Will The Weather Be Like?

We take great care in constructing our tours to coincide with the best time of year for travel and activity in the specific area. For example, Washington's rainy season is generally from September/October to April/May. Because of this we focus our outdoor trips to the months of June, July, and August. Another example are our trips to New Zealand. We plan these to fall in their nicer months like February, but not in the heat of summer, and don't forget their summer is during our winter.

How Strenuous Will The Trip Be?

Each type of trip will have a different level of activity, but even our painting and sight-seeing trips will have a fair amount of walking. The trip descriptions will have levels of activity to help you decide if the trip is right for you, but you can always contact us to get even more information.

What Will The Group Be Like?

Each trips group will be comprised of people, who like you, are adventurous and love to travel. You will quickly make new lifelong friends who share your interests, whether they be kayaking or watercolor painting.

For Retreats and Tours in Washington State transportation will not be provided to or from the destination unless otherwise specified in the retreat infomation or special arrangements are made.

For Retreats and Tours outside Washington State we will cover the cost and set up or give you the information on airport transfers to and from the tour. If you are driving to the tour, you may leave your locked car at or near the place where the tour originates for the duration of the trip. We will deliver you back to your car when the tour is over.

Many people who travel by plane prefer to arrive at the gateway city the day before the tour starts and leave the day after the trip is over. Accordingly, we will furnish you with the name of the recommended hotel or motel that we pick people up from on the first day of the trip, and where we can drop you off at trip’s end. There are many trips, however, that we will provide lodging the night before and the night after the trip.

As an optional extra, a person traveling solo on any inn-to-inn trip may reserve a room for his or her exclusive use. This will guarantee you a private room and private bath every night. The cost for this option will be listed on the trip page under “Single Room” when the option is available. If you’re willing to share a room, there is no extra charge for coming solo, no matter when you sign up for the tour — even if you wind up with a private room by default. Please note not all trips will have single room accommodations.

Payment of Balance

The balance, payable by check or credit card, is due 60 days prior to the start of your trip. For reservations made less than 60 days prior to departure, entire tour portion must be paid and deposit is non-refundable.

Transfers

If a business or personal emergency should cause you to not be able to take the tour you signed up for, just transfer to another Adventure On! retreat. You may transfer to any trip, for which space is available, scheduled to depart within 24 months of the trip you originally signed up for. If you inform us of your need to transfer 61 days (121 days for trips outside the United States) or more before the start of the original trip, there is no charge for transferring all your payments to another tour. Transfers made 60 days (120 days for trips outside the United States) or fewer in advance will be considered a cancellation, and our standard cancellation policy will apply.

Cancellations by You

If you have to cancel a trip for any reason, the following refund schedule applies:

For trips outside the United States you’ll need to give us twice as much notice of a cancellation. For example, 182 days to get a full refund, 140 days for a 50% refund, etc.

Exceptions to our cancellation policy can not be made for any reason, including weather, terrorism, civil unrest, natural disasters, or personal, family and medical emergencies.

No refunds are made for meals, services, or lodging paid for but not used. All optional extras you order are considered part of the trip cost and are subject to our cancellation fees. Requests to transfer and cancellations of confirmed reservations must be in writing and are effective upon receipt in our office.

Cancellations by Us

Once you have received a confirmed reservation from us, we make every effort for that trip to go forward. However, we must reserve the right to cancel any trip.

Should Adventure On! cancel a trip at any time, for any reason, on which you have a confirmed reservation, we will not only refund all monies paid by you, but we will also give you a $200 credit you can use to transfer to another tour that same week or use on any trip for which space is available departing within the next 12 months.
